Fold and Form Culvert Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is accomplished using Thermoform plasticised PVC pipe:

• Fully meets the structural requirements for DOT Load Ratings.
• Factory-made - ensures quality assurance in the same way as standard PVC pipes.
• No chemical reactions or emissions during the installation process - this is the environmentally friendly option.

Thermoform's Installation Process:

• Factory made in the same way as conventional PVC pipe; however whilst still hot it is folded into a C or H shape and wrapped onto a transportation coil for shipping.
• It is warmed with steam causing it to soften to the point where it is pliable enough to be winched through the host pipe.
• Once in the pipe it is again heated with steam and pressurized to expand and form a tight fit to the host pipe.
    - The material will lock itself into any corrugations, shape changes or imperfections within the pipe.
• While under pressure the material is cooled with chilled air until it becomes solid again forming a tight fit.

Complete application comes without negative change to the hydraulics. The loss to the radius is minimal, often under 3%. The Manning's n Value is 0.009, so the liner often increases flow (as much as 22.8% over concrete).
